Peace Race, 1965

In 1965, Maciej Urbaniec crafted an eye-catching poster for The Peace Race, often dubbed the Eastern Europe's answer to the Tour de France. This event, a collaborative effort by Czechoslovakia, the Polish People’s Republic, and East Germany from 1948 to 2006, aimed to ease post-war tensions. The 1965 poster, with its bold and expressive brush strokes, vividly conveys a sense of optimistic progress and unity.
