Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a prominent French artist known for his painting, printmaking, and illustration skills, captured the essence of Parisian bohemian life in the late 19th century. In 1896, he created a poster for the Simpson Chain, a bicycle chain from England, invented by William Spiers Simpson. This poster showcased Constant Huret, a well-known French cyclist, at the Vélodrome de la Seine in Paris. Accompanying him in the artwork is Lisette Marton, a French competitive cyclist and one of the athletes sponsored by Simpson.
We think this design works best as a framed and mounted print, but it is also available without the frame. If you'd like a price for this and details of how to order, please email us using info@ciclismo-art.com
